A limited number of Evinrude E-TEC G2 74° V6 (3.4 L) outboards may have a steering component which is incorrectly assembled. In some circumstances, this situation may result in a loss of steering control and possibly cause serious injuries or even death.BRP has issued bulletin 2015-08(W) which instructs the consumer to bring the unit to the dealer who will test the steering system with the aid of a kit and determine whether a replacement of the stern and swivel bracket is necessary.
