To Do List for Boating Safety Partners

  1. Create your timeline. As you plan your activities for National Safe Boating Week, set deadlines for yourself so that everything is completed in stages, so that you’re not rushed at the end.
  1. Identify potential partners. Know any small business owners in your area that might sponsor materials for you? Would your local marina be willing to distribute information or host an information table during NSBW? Start leafing through your Rolodex and local yellow pages to find others willing to make a difference on boating safety.
  1. Order your materials.  Visit www.safeboatingcampaign.com to see if you’d like to use any of the tools or items listed under the “Campaign Resources” section. Since you’ll need to allow time for these to be delivered, start thinking about your order, and place it soon.

  2. Check out other resources on the U.S. Coast Guard website located at - www.uscgboating.org. You will find a variety of boating safety information, brochures, and PSAs under the “You’re in Command!” section. The library also offers hundreds of downloadable photos for your use.
