2023 Operation Dry Water Heightened Alcohol Awareness and Enforcement Weekend

The Operation Dry Water (ODW) heightened awareness and enforcement three-day weekend normally occurs in conjunction with the 4th of July holiday.

Alcohol use continues to be the leading known contributing factor in fatal boating accidents. Outreach partners and volunteers will be out on the water and at marinas and launch points, working collaboratively with law enforcement and the Coast Guard to educate boaters about safe boating practices. Law enforcement will also be detecting and removing impaired operators from the water.

Please do your part, Don’t Drink and Boat.

Operation Dry Water is coordinated nationally by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard. Operation Dry Water is produced under a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, administered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
